The Best Vegan And Vegetarian Restaurants In Miami: Raw South

I’m so lucky to live in a place that prioritizes health, movement, and nutritious food. I know there aren’t many other places in the United States that provide as many vegan options as Miami does. And, I’m so grateful that being vegan here doesn’t limit me from going out to dinner with my family and friends.

So, to celebrate all the yummy vegan food in Miami, I’m doing another review for the best vegan and vegetarian restaurants in Miami. A little while ago, I went to Raw South in South Miami. It’s a small plant-based cafe right off of Sunset.

Raw South is not completely vegan, but it does serve a variety of plant-based options. And, all of its ingredients are simple and fresh, making for high-quality, nutritional-dense food. Like most health cafes Raw South mainly serves items like juices, smoothies, bowls, and wraps, but its specialty items are where it’s at.

As soon as I walked into Raw South, I knew this was the kind of place I would come back to more than once. It has a cool, low-key vibe, and it’s a great place to sit down and get some work done on your computer or read a book. It’s not loud. The service is great, and the food is good, too.

When I went, I ordered the “I am Raw South” juice and the vegan tacos.

The juice with spinach, kale, dandelion, celery, lemon, green apple, ginger, and cucumber was refreshing and light. I liked how the green apple and cucumber cut back on the bitterness of the kale and the sourness of the lemon. It’s the perfect juice for a hot summer day. Overall, it was a very drinkable, and I would order it again.

The vegan lentils tacos are one of Raw South’s best-sellers. They’re made with lentil almond meat, slaw, shredded vegan cheese, tomato, onion, jalapeños, vegan sour cream, avocado and pico de gallo. I’m not sure what was in the lentil meat, but it was amazing—definitely the best part of the tacos. The vegetables were crisp and added nicely to the taco. But, for me there was too much vegan cheese. I would have preferred more vegetables. However with that said, these are pretty good vegan tacos, and I would order them again.

Raw South is a great place to grab lunch if you’re in the neighborhood. The food is solid and speaks for itself. The atmosphere is laidback so you can get some work done or enjoy a quiet lunch with a friend. The ingredients taste super fresh— this is the kind of place that can confidently call itself a health cafe. And lastly, The service is awesome; you won’t spend your whole lunch break waiting for food.

I recommend coming to Raw South for a healthy meal or if you want to grab a quick juice or smoothie. And even though it’s not completely vegan, Raw South still has many great vegan options.
